This article brought back some very fond memories. I good friend of mine imported about a dozen RS200 "Evolution" versions into the US and then sold them on to collectors. Ford Motorsport GB had planned to crush some of the surplus cars after Group B was cancelled. Bob Sutherland convinced them to sell them instead.
He bought one himself and entered it in the Pike's Peak Hillclimb with Brit rally driver, Malcom Wilson, driving.
Of course, we had to "road test" some of the cars when they were shipped to Colorado to make sure everything was okay. Driving a 610HP RS200 on the street was "a bit wooly" as the Brits would say, but great fun.
